Q: How old do I need to be to rent/drive a boat?
A: To rent a boat, you must be at least 21 years old. To operate a boat, you must have a current Washington State boater’s card. Out of state boater’s cards are not accepted, respectfully. If you don’t have a boater’s card, you can choose the option to book with a captain.
Q: How old do I need to be to rent/drive a jet ski?
A: To rent a jet ski, you must be at least 18 years old. To operate a jet ski, you must be at least 14 years old.
Q: Do I need a permit or license to drive a jet ski?
A: You don't need a boater's card for jet ski rentals. However, each operator must complete a Washington State Motor Vessel Rental Safety Checklist, which will be available for you to fill out when you arrive.
Q: What if I've never driven a jet ski before?
A: Our team will provide you with a brief 5-minute orientation on jet ski operation, safety and waterway rules.
Q: Can I rent a boat if I have no experience?
A: If you're new to boating or simply do not have a Washington State boater’s card, you can still rent a boat but one of our captains will be required to operate the boat for your party to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. To rent a boat without a captain, you must have a current Washington State boater's card.
Q: Do you accept same-day reservations?
A: We require at least 24 hours notice for reservations. However, some inquiries may be accepted depending on our availability for the day. Please contact us directly via email or Instagram if you wish to inquire within 24 hours. If we can accommodate your same-day request, full rental payment is required in advance and there are no refunds for cancellations. Same-day rentals are final sale.
Q: Where does the boat depart from and return to?
A: The boat departs and returns at the Atlantic City Boat Ramp; 8702 Seward Park Ave S, Seattle, WA 98118. We will provide you with specific directions when you make a reservation.
Q: What if I'm late for my reservation?
A: If you're late, your duration will be reduced and we cannot extend your reservation time.
Q: Where can I drive the watercrafts and are there boundaries I need to obey?
A: Our boat is only allowed on Lake Washington and Lake Union. You MAY NOT go beyond Lake Union through the Ballard Locks and into the sound. Jet skis are only allowed on Lake Washington and NOT Lake Union. Please do not take the watercrafts outside of these designated areas.
Q: What can I bring on the boat?
A: Whatever you’d like! Food, drinks, coolers, floaties and celebratory decoratives are examples of things you may feel free to bring. A speaker is not necessary as our boat and jet skis have Bluetooth sound systems. The only items we prohibit on our boat are firearms.
Q: Can we swim in the lakes?
A: Definitely! Lake Washington and Lake Union are both safe to swim in. For your safety, we just ask that you turn off the engine and put up the orange swim flag that we provide to allow other boats to recognize that you have swimmers in the water.
Q: Are there life vests on the boat?
A: Yes, it is required by law to have enough life vest for the capacity of the boat so our vessel includes sufficient life vests plus a throwable floatation device and two youth life vests.
Q: Do you have any floaties for us?
A: We can provide a few floaties if specifically requested and our boat also includes a portable quick-flow air pump to inflate any floaties you choose to use.
Q: Are pets allowed on the boat?
A: As we are pet lovers and owners ourselves, in efforts to keep our boat in the best condition possible for our customers to enjoy season after season, unfortunately, we do not allow pets on the boat.
Q: What is the cancellation policy?
A: Unfortunately, at the moment, we do not offer refunds on reservations but we do allow rescheduling your reservation to a day and time that will work for you.
Q: What do I do if I need assistance in the middle of the lake?
A: If you need quick assistance, you may honk the boat horn and wave the orange flag to grab the attention of other boaters around you. You may also contact us via email, Instagram and/or direct cell phone # (a contact card is available on the boat). In an emergency situation, dial 911 and request for marine patrol asap.
